Is Losing Fat Easy?
Losing fat sometimes is easy, sometimes not. I should know as I have been battling the bulge for quite a while now. I was super skinny when I was young and just kind of expected I would stay that way without having to work at it.
Funny how your mind can trick you too as I knew I was getting larger but my brain didn’t really accept it.
What really brought home my weight gain is when my co-workers and I would go out for lunch and one time one of them brought a camera to take pictures of us. I couldn’t believe it when they were emailed to me. What an eye opener. I was so embarrassed! I was huge. I was almost 200 pounds and was wearing 1x shirts, sometimes 2x and size 18 pants and most of them were ‘stretchy’ material, if you know what I mean.
So started my journey to regain my lost svelte physique.
Some years things are good and some years, well not so much, as the weight and fat climbs back on. I have clothes in every size imaginable in boxes and my closet.
Crazy, but I don’t suppose I am the only one in this situation. I know everyone says to give away your ‘fat’ clothes once you lose the weight and I have donated some of them but the more expensive clothes, like suits and jackets, and of course shoes (as my feet get bigger too) I just can’t get rid of.
It is always in the back of my mind that I will need them again and I just can’t afford to replace them all.
Who knows, maybe it is a self-fulfilling prophecy, but that’s the way it is for me.
What is even more frustrating is what worked for me in previous years to get trim again, doesn’t necessarily work the next time I try it. Of course my metabolism isn’t what it was when I was younger and that is probably the culprit. Also I am not as active as I should be.
I should know better, but hey, I’m human, and there is a big difference in what I should do and what I actually do. I’m sure I’m not the only one.
I did get down to 148 lbs but now have crept back up to 157 lbs. My goal is to get down to about 135 so time to get back to work and get moving to lose the fat and extra weight.
I have done lots of research on dieting and getting fit and on this site are some of the things I have found. There are good programs and bad programs for fat loss and losing weight but the thing is that what works for me may or may not work for you. Hopefully some of what you find here will help you too and who knows we may even find how we can start losing fat fast.
